To improve the health of patients with musculoskeletal conditions by providing scientifically rigorous methods and resources for clinical research towards a learning healthcare system.
Our Story
The Clinical Learning, Evidence And Research (CLEAR) Center is a musculoskeletal research center led by a multidisciplinary team at the University of Washington in Seattle. Founded in 2017, the CLEAR Center is funded by an initial $3.75 million grant from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS).

Our Focus Areas
- Methods for clinical musculoskeletal studies using novel study designs, including pragmatic/effectiveness clinical trials
- Investigating new approaches, such as machine and deep learning, to the use of electronic medical record data
- Providing analysis-ready data sets and services for conducting clinical musculoskeletal research
- Fostering communication and outreach to the musculoskeletal research community, expanding the community of investigators performing high-quality musculoskeletal clinical research
